Always on the lookout for new beauty products, we found some new favorite products which are on budget and extremely good quality. The Ordinary is this new and excitingly priced brand which focuses on advanced functional beauty. The Ordinary (theordinary.com) mixes chemistry and biochemistry to bring out products that are clever and functional in that they actually work! The products are also free of parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, animal oils, benzalkonium chloride, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, mercury, oxybenzone. It takes a bit of a beauty geek to navigate through the products, but our favourites of the moment are: Granactive retinol 2% in Squalane £7.80/USD, 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil 3 £5.90, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F £ 14.90, Alpha Artbutin 2% + HA £7 and Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Solution 10% £6.50.
Use the Retinol every other day together with the Moroccan Argan Oil (to counteract flakiness and dry patches). On the days that you don’t use the Retinol, use the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F (a vitamin C product that brightens skin and reduces signs of ageing), Alpha Artbutin 2% + HA (to fight pigmentation) and their moisturiser, the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Solution 10% to hydrate your skin. The key with these products is layering. Don’t be put off by the long names of the products. These are products off a very high potency and the price point is fantastic. We have been very happy trying out these new products and are now favorites in our bathroom cabinet.
Our hair care also has had a revelation these last few weeks with a new product from L’Oreal Elvive. L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths is the best shampoo we tried in a long while. It has everything you would want in a shampoo for long hair. It makes your hair super soft and manageable, it works into a good lather and smells divine.
At only £4.99 (currently on offer at Superdrug - https://www.superdrug.com/ - for £2.45), this is a shampoo that is worth giving it a try. The range comes with a great conditioner (L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Long Hair Conditioner £2.99, and a blow dry cream L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream £5.99 (at Superdrug £3.95). This is a wonderful cream you use on wet hair before blow drying and it helps to reduce the appearance of split ends and reduce breakage from brushing. It is so good, we think it is L’Oreal’s best shampoo from the Elvive range to date. More information about Elvive Dream Lenghts can be found at: http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/products/hair-care/brand/elvive-dream-lengths
Another beauty surprise is the Collection Lash Surge Mascara Ultra Black (http://www.collectioncosmetics.co.uk). It is only £4.99 (at Superdrug on offer for £3.99) but this mascara can compete with any high-end mascara. It reminds a bit of the Chanel mascara Le Volume. But whilst the Chanel one is £26 is and can be a bit clumpy, the Collection Lash Surge Mascara does not clump and still gives the lashes a good coating. The mascara is build-able to get even thicker lashes. When you would like to keep an eye on your spending after the holidays, it can be a good thing to look out for some new beauty surprises that are more budget friendly.
